TEMPLE EDITIONS is an independent publisher based in Takatsuki, a city located between Osaka and Kyoto. Takatsuki has long flourished as a place of movement and exchange, positioned between Osaka, a center of commerce, and Kyoto, a center of culture. Our studio is housed in a renovated farmhouse barn originally built over a hundred years ago.
By handling planning, design, and production within the same space, with minimal outsourcing, we aim to create publications with a high degree of originality and freedom. Moving fluidly between commerce and culture, history and innovation, we continue to explore our own way of making.
Today the world is saturated with images designed to influence human intention. We consume them almost automatically rarely considering the impact they may have on our minds.Having worked as a graphic designer for over 20 years I have become deeply aware of the immense power of images and feel a certain responsibility toward this condition.
Temple refers to a sacred space. The pure beauty of color and form. The value of making things slowly by hand. Ideas that carry not just surface appeal but a deeper spiritual resonance. TEMPLE EDITIONS was named with these thoughts in mind.
Our publications are produced in small, limited editions and released gradually over time.
